What is Pallet Delivery?
Pallet delivery refers to the transportation of goods stacked on a pallet, a flat structure typically made of wood to provide stability during shipping. Here’s a breakdown of what pallet delivery benefits include:
- Pallets allow for easy loading and unloading using forklifts and pallet jacks, making the handling process easier.
- Goods are securely fastened to the pallet, reducing the risk of damage.
- Pallets are a set size, making it easier to calculate shipping costs and work out the space needed in the delivery vehicles.
- By adding multiple items to a single pallet, shipping becomes more economical compared to individual packages.
- Pallets are suitable for a wide range of products, from small boxes to large industrial components.
Typically, goods are packed and stacked on the pallet, usually wrapped with plastic shrink wrap before collection from the sender’s location. It is then transported via road, train, sea or plane, depending on where the pallet is going, before being delivered to the recipient, when it is unloaded and distributed.
